My goal is to tackle this and show you incredible people behind our service!

I launched this series of blogs “Meet the team”, where I asked some quick questions to some of our brilliant colleagues, giving you the chance to get to know them better.

In this blog, I had the pleasure of speaking with Irene Therem, our customer pay manager.

Q: What led you to pursue a payroll in pay?

“At the start, I found my way in pay by chance, but it quickly turned out to be a turning point in my career.

“By working in a human resources service by focusing on social benefits and recruitment, I was asked to intervene and temporarily manage the pay while my manager experienced maternity leave.

“What started as a short -term responsibility quickly became a real passion.

“I discovered how much I appreciated the structure, attention to the details and the critical nature of the pay.

“From that moment, I knew it was the right way for me, and now I couldn’t imagine doing something else.”

Q: Can you tell us a bit about your role and what you do daily?

“As responsible for customer payroll, I am responsible for management and treatment independently of more than 40 payrolls each month, mainly general medicine practices, but also to support a range of other types of customers.

“My role is to supervise the complete cycle of the payroll, from the initial entry of the data to the final processing and the reports.

“This includes verification of employee tax codes, the precise calculation of pro-rata payments for beginners / outgoing and the guarantee of retirement contributions are properly applied in accordance with customer specifications and legal requirements.

“I am also responsible for maintaining strict compliance with the GDPR, HMRC regulations, self-registration pension rules and wider legislation for employment.”

Q: Are there any common ideas on the outsourcing of the pay you want to eliminate?

“A false common idea on the outsourcing of the pay is that it is as simple as to press a button and that the payroll takes place.

“In reality, there is a significant amount of work that takes place behind the scenes.

“Each payroll requires checks, calculations and in -depth compliance exams, whether to validate tax codes, process statutory payments, manage starters / outgoing, properly apply retirement contributions, ensure data security or maintain legal compliance.

“It is a meticulous process that requires precision, up -to -date knowledge of legislation and constant attention to detail.

“Payroll professionals play an essential role in ensuring that people are paid properly and in time, and that companies remain in accordance with all relevant regulations.”

Q: What advice would you give to companies that plan to outsource their pay?

“My advice to companies that plan to outsource their pay is to consider it as a strategic decision rather than an administrative decision.

“Payroll does not only consist of paying employees – it is a question of ensuring compliance with constantly changing legislation, maintaining data security and providing a coherent and error -free process each time.

Q: How does technology play a role in rationalizing payroll?

“Technology rationalizes payroll by automating calculations, reducing errors and ensuring compliance with legislation.

“It allows transparent integration with HR and time systems, improving precision and economy time.

Q: What do you think of distinguishing your team from others in industry?

“This is the level of customer service we provide.

“Our team is friendly, responsive and always ready to make an additional effort.

“Customers can count on us for fast and precise pay treatment, and we establish solid labor relationships by being accessible and easy to work.

“In addition to this, we receive continuous training to ensure that we are fully up to date with the latest requirements of legislation and compliance.

“This means that customers can have total confidence that their salary is not only in safe hands, but also with expertise and care.”
