A big return in the July edition of the Employment Hero product update. We’re moving full steam ahead into the second half of the year, which means one thing: we’ve got a whole bunch of new products to share with you.
So what’s up? We introduced shareable SmartMatch candidates, added the option for duration-based evaluation periods, template creation for 360-degree evaluations, new roster updates, personalized email notifications, and even more. Everything is there and ready to use on the platform – let’s get started.
A new suite of SmartMatch updates
Over the past few months, we’ve been working hard to develop our SmartMatch AI tool to make recruiting easier than ever. This month we released a whole new set of updates
You can now share SmartMatch candidate profiles
Available for the following HR plans: Standard, Premium, Platinum
Have you discovered a great SmartMatch candidate? You can now share them with your colleagues involved in the recruitment process, allowing you to act more quickly to find the right candidate.
To share a candidate’s profile in SmartMatch, simply use the “Share Candidate Profile” option so you can send it to other members of your team who need to be informed about hiring decisions. The user you choose to share the profile with will receive an email with a link to view the candidate’s profile in their account under “Registered Candidates.” A banner will also appear on the candidate’s profile indicating that the candidate has been shared with them.
Interested SmartMatch candidates can now provide answers to screening questions and submit a personal presentation.
When you create a new job in the Recruitment module, SmartMatch instantly begins searching for high-quality candidates who are genuinely interested in your role and your company.
The most qualified candidates will receive a notification that SmartMatch believes they are the best candidate for this position. These candidates can then view the job description and, if it matches, express their interest in the position.
With these latest versions, candidates can go even further by providing answers to any screening questions you’ve added to the position and writing a personal introduction explaining their interest in your role and your company.

Introduction of duration-based review periods
Available for the following HR plans: Premium, Platinum
Staying on top of review periods can be difficult when managing a team, which is why we’ve introduced a way to lock review dates. Whether performance reviews or probationary reviews, you can now set a fixed duration (e.g. 3-month performance review, 1-year performance review, etc.), at place of fixed start and end dates.
This allows the evaluation period to start automatically for each employee and manager upon assignment, streamlining the management of trial periods alongside regular performance reviews.
Filter employee rehire eligibility
Available for the following HR plans: Standard, Premium, Platinum
Do you have employees who have recently left your company, but might consider returning in the future? This one is for you. We’ve now added a filter to make your rehire process a little easier: you can now see the rehire eligibility of offshored employees.
With this information, you can easily track and review former employees who could be rehired. in your employee list. Additionally, you can also include this filter in termination reports.
When the time comes to leave an employee, you are now asked: “Would you consider rehiring this staff?» If you check “Yes”, you can easily reintegrate them on board in the future.
This filter is a game changer for companies that rely on a seasonal workforce or have interns or contractors who want to work for the company later.

Creating templates for 360 reviews
Available for the following HR plans: Platinum
We all know how valuable feedback is in the workplace – and when it comes from different people across the company, it’s an incredibly valuable tool for professional development.
In Employment Hero, 360° reviews are designed to give employees a more complete view of their professional development, allowing for feedback from people outside of their direct management.
We want to make them even easier to use, so we’ve streamlined 360 reviews by adding the ability to create templates. To create a template, go toPerformance > 360 notice management > Template management > Create a 360 notice template.

New updates to roster management
Available for the following new HR plans: Platinum
We’ve made some key updates to roster management. We introduced a brand new feature, roles, and the ability to print a list.
Overview of roles
Our brand new Roles feature allows you to create a roster group, such as front of house staff, which you can then assign to your employees in roster management when entering their shift details. You can also use this feature to edit role details if they change and delete a record if it is no longer needed.
Roles will be included in email notifications and Swag Teams. You can also assign custom colors to quickly identify them on your registration calendar.

Added printing capability
We’ve also added the ability to print lists directly from Employment Hero. When printing a list, you can customize what is included (e.g. date range, locations, shift status, employees, etc.) and can be printed in week or day format.
Personalized email notifications for time off and expenses
Available for the following HR plans: Platinum
Being busy at work means that sometimes important notifications often go unread. To reduce this risk, you can now set up custom email notifications for time off and expenses. This update means that notifications will be sent directly to your inbox when an employee requests them.
Email notifications are built from workflows based on specific conditions that must be met. You can also choose what information you want to include in the email notification to best meet your organization’s needs.

Overview of the Pinned Reports widget
Available for the following HR plans: Platinum
Are you looking for an easy way to display important reports for your organization on the platform? The new Pinned Reports widget helps you do just that.
You can now pin reports to your HR platform dashboard using the Pinned Reports widget. This feature allows you to easily access up to five reports and organize them based on their importance. You can pinPolicies and introductory content,Certifications,HR documents,Occupancy Reports, Asset Reports, Goal Report and Custom “Create Your Own Reports”. You can also pin your workforce overview or employment termination, work eligibility, and tax reports.
Administrators, owners, and users with appropriate custom security settings (CSS) have the ability to pin reports to the dashboard.

Create internal roles via the Recruitment module
Available for the following HR plans: Platinum
Are you looking to recruit internally? We just made it a lot easier. You can now create internal roles (i.e. roles made visible only to employees in your organization) from the “Add new job” menu.
This feature allows you to create an internal job posting, specify role details, add screening questions, hiring managers, and more. You can also comment on a candidate’s progress, which means you can keep your hiring notes all in one place.
Have you changed your mind? You can easily change an internal role to an external role under the role’s “Announcements” tab.

Download the leave summary for a calendar year
Available for the following HR plans: Standard, Premium, Platinum
Want to know more about absenteeism in the workplace? You can now do this with the Leave Taken Summary in the Leave Report, allowing you to download past and current leave summaries for a calendar year.
