May is here, which means one thing: we’re back with another edition of the Employment Hero product update. We’re sharing all the product updates we’ve been working hard on this year.
Over the past month, we’ve introduced new updates to SmartMatch, personalized exit interview templates, automated the onboarding process, added a way to drive candidate engagement in the hiring process, and even more. Everything is there and ready to use on the platform – let’s get started!
A brand new suite of updates for SmartMatch
Available for the following HR plans: Standard, Premium, Platinum
Employment Hero’s SmartMatch tool revolutionizes the way you recruit by connecting great talent to your company. With the help of AI, SmartMatch analyzes a candidate’s skills, experience, and certifications to find the perfect match. You receive directly a list of candidates ready to work – and now it’s even better.
View a snapshot of the SmartMatch candidate with their important information
Hiring can take time, so we make it easier for you to view the most important information about a candidate.
When viewing a candidate profile, you will now see a purple “Highlights” section showing a summary of the candidate’s experience and key profile highlights. This allows you to have a quick overview of the candidates’ background and skills.
If you want to know more about the candidate, you can scroll down to see their full profile. This includes their work experience, qualifications and skills.

View SmartMatch candidates when creating a new job in ATS
When creating a job posting in ATS, you can now view appropriate SmartMatch candidates once you enter the job title, city, and industry.
These matches will appear in the “Recommended Talent” column on the job creation page and you can instantly shortlist potential candidates. Too busy to pre-screen candidates? We will automatically add suitable candidates to the position for you to review later.
Personalize your SmartMatch searches
You can now refine your searches by including or excluding past hires, candidates, and unsuitable candidates. If you chose to include past applicants, SmartMatch will flag those applicants and show you their application history.
You can now also view the “application history” (position applied for, application date and recruitment stage for the position) in the ATS candidate profile..
It’s just another way for us to streamline the recruiting process and speed up the time it takes to hire the ideal candidate.

Say Hello to Custom Exit Interview Templates

We know that when an employee leaves your organization, it is difficult to say goodbye. But as difficult as this can be, it also gives you the opportunity to get insightful feedback on the overall employee experience, allowing you to improve in areas that might need a little attention.
That’s why we created custom exit interview templates in Employment Hero. Using these templates, you can tailor questions to your organization’s needs to gain deeper insights and ultimately improve employee retention.
You can create multiple exit interview templates, customize questions (text or multiple choice), and add a title. You can find this in theExit Interviews > Modelsin the Employment Hero tab.

Simplified publication of pay slips
Available for the following HR plans when using Payroll: Standard, Premium, Platinum
We’re working hard to take HR administration off your hands, and that’s why streamlining the difficult parts of HR and payroll is always at the top of our to-do list.
We’re excited to announce that payslips now automatically sync from Employment Hero Payroll to Employment Hero HR when posted. Employees can also easily access their pay stubs through Employment Hero and the Swag app.

Automate your onboarding process today

When you’ve found exceptional talent for your company and are ready to onboard them, your priority should be to provide them with the best experience possible. This is exactly where our all-new onboarding automation feature can help you: you don’t leave any boxes unchecked during the onboarding process.
With our new onboarding workflows, you can personalize the onboarding process by triggering actions based on what stage of the onboarding process an employee is at. You can also automatically create a Google or Microsoft account for them as part of your custom onboarding process. Additionally, you will soon be able to create a personalized task and emails to send to the intended recipients.

Direct Report Reassignment Alert
Available for the following HR plans: Standard, Premium, Platinum
When a manager leaves your organization, it can be destabilizing for direct reports who now find themselves without a manager. To make the transition easier, we’ve added new alerts that notify admins to reassign their direct reports to another manager.
To set this up, you can create a task in your starting workflow that will remind you to reassign employees to a new manager when their current manager is removed from your organization.

Boost candidate engagement
Available for the following HR plans: Standard, Premium, Platinum
We know how important it is to keep candidates engaged throughout the recruiting process, and that’s why we’re excited to share that it’s now easier than ever. Following our update, you can send an email each time a candidate moves to a different hiring stage, letting them know exactly where they are in the process.
When you’ve walked someone through the process, you’ll see a pop-up with an email text editor and your email templates. This allows you to instantly and easily send an email to the candidate with just a few clicks.

Say hello to your new dashboard
Available for the following HR plans: Standard, Premium, Platinum
We’ve introduced a new dashboard designed to give you a centralized view of the most important data. Access your company feed, HR metrics for your organization, and more.
On your dashboard you will also see your newto do list. Here you can see all the tasks that need your attention, including documents that need to be acknowledged, contracts that need to be signed, new security incidents, certifications to complete and approve, onboarding content, and policies to be recognized or revised.

Presentation of the talent grid in 9 boxes
Available for the following HR plans: Platinum
Imagine having a place where you can see the potential of employees in your company. Say hello to the 9-square talent grid.
We’ve added a talent grid to help take the guesswork out of employee performance and potential.
Strategically plan for the future with this visual tool that maps employee performance and potential, helping to identify top performers and those who need support.
Admins can view all employees (whose performance and potential reviews are recorded) in the 9-box talent grid. Senior managers will only see their direct reports in the grid.
If an employee has not recorded their performance and potential reviews, they will not be visible in the 9-box talent grid.

Presentation of disciplinary management
Package available on: UK Standard, Premium, Platinum.
Admins and Senior Managers can now manage and track employee disciplines in the employee file. Employees can also appeal disciplinary actions listed in their profile.
This feature can help you know what stage they are at in the disciplinary process, as well as what actions were taken and what the outcome was.
